Looking back at the AI Congress of the North
“The smart power of the network”

On Friday, October 28, the Groninger Forum was filled with a large number of players from the public and private sectors who (want to) work on the possibilities of AI in their own contexts and are open to exploring them together.

Together with partner Cooperation North, the AI Hub North Netherlands has put together a full-day program. The AI Congress “The Smart Power of the Network” with keynote speakers as many as 16 Break-out sessions and a closing wrap-up. In addition, there was plenty of time for networking over lunch and drinks.

National AI Coalition strategist Kees van der Klauw shared in his presentation a rich overview of the national AI landscape using various examples. The northern AI hub is the seventh and last to be formed. Transition expert Lucas Simons of New Foresight took us through the generic characteristics common to all transitions during his keynote. If we continue to play by the same rules, the game will continue to end in the same disappointments, is his message.

After a first round of Break-outs, it was time for the long networking lunch in the Atrium, during which an hour and a half it was easy to see that nearly 300 savvy networkers had come to the event. Among them some 60% participants from the business community.

Two more rounds of Break-outs later, participants reconvened in the RaboStudio, where day chairman Wijnand Aalderink joined Lucas Simons in conversation with several moderators Mirjam Plantinga and Anita Lieverdink. And the key players of the AI Hub North Netherlands Program Manager Yvonne Kooi and Program Director Jan Post revealed the date of the next edition: Sept. 28, 2023.

Thank you Northern business community for your visit!
