AI course for the Creative Industry

The Dutch AI Coalition, Lowercase Foundation and the Top Sector Creative Industry have teamed up for a special AI Course for the Creative Industry. The course introduces the creative and cultural sector to AI “artificial intelligence” and shows how AI can be used in work practices. The online free course lasts about three hours and can be taken at your own pace and time.

Systems technology AI is developing at a rapid pace. AI is also playing an increasingly important role in the creative and cultural industries. That AI can support and enrich the creative and cultural sector has become increasingly apparent in recent years. In the AI course, Nadia Piet takes the student through 10 self-paced tracks.

The tracks explain basic concepts of AI such as machine learning, algorithms and deep learning and highlight various creative and cultural fields. For example, we hear from media companies NPO and RTL about how they are using AI for diversity in programs, startup Lalaland.ai talks about artificial photo models and NU.nl highlights how AI is being applied in journalism. Examples of AI in dance, music, books, theater and heritage are also discussed. Of course, we also look at the preconditions and future possibilities for AI to be successful. Can AI actually be creative? And where is your responsibility as a creative maker?
